Candid Snapshots

Hello there! And now Tantei♥Amethyst are back for more fun! =D

We spent a day of testing my new  Canon EOS 550D. Hmmm... should we give it a name too just like Shinyuu? Tantei and I just couldn't sit still with the cool stuff around. 

One thing peculiar about our household is arrangement. Just look at the alternate brown and green shades of pillow cases! Vivid blues and greens in the CA shooting mode did the trick. 

The same shooting mode was used in this pic. It accentuates the greenness of the table cloth and gives the table a more woody effect. 

Just look at those tiny bells at the bottom. This candle holder looked very elegant and those red balls were caught on cam beautifully.

It might be weird enough to see a Greek-styled vase and an antique camera displayed together. 

For close-up shots, it's better to have a blurred background to make your subject 'pop-up' and stand out. 

This chandelier is probably one of my favorite things in the house. It's classy and it looks close to those I could see in ballrooms. 

A cup of love? Anyone? I must say I owe this cup of cappuccino to my sister Jia and her artistic skills. I tried to make a smiley face but it ended up like a frown.

Attack of the Cupcakes

     This is just a random blog post to show you how addicted I am to sweets! So a few months ago, I bought cupcakes from The Lady Baker. The Lady Baker is actually my friend’s cousin. She makes personalized cupcakes/cakes, cheesecakes and a lot more!

I ordered half a dozen of cupcakes from Lady Baker. I chose 3 flavors – rainbow cupcake, Red Velvet and chocolate cupcake. J 

My favorite is the rainbow cupcake and red velvet.

     I also love the pouch from Rags to Riches. Rags to Riches is actually a brand that collaborates with well-known local fashion designers, like Rajo Laurel, and the women of Payatas! Its products are from recycled materials and made by the women of Payatas. 

Catwalk x Etude House Makeup Workshop

One thing that I’m passionate about is makeup.

    Others may not believe it at first but it’s 100% true. I love playing with eye shadows and watching Michelle Phan videos on YouTube. It’s my secret obsession. However, I simply cannot do the eyebrow thing! I tried it before on myself and on Mariel and the result is the same, our eyebrows look like that of Betty la Fea! Hahaha

     Good thing I came across Marj Sia’s blog. I found out that she is offering make up workshops for beginners! There are actually 3 reasons that urged me to join this workshop:

a.   I want to learn how to achieve that ‘flawless’ skin minus the face that screams I’m wearing make-up and of course the eyebrow thing that I’m ranting about earlier! J

Meet Marj Sia who is super kind and approachable. 

A doctor from FreshLook explained the features and benefits of FreshLook 

and how using contact lens bought from the internet can do harm to our eyes. 

So better be careful when buying contact lens.  

They also provided the makeup that we used.
